What Happens in Cases of No-Shows?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, causing either a Friend or a Member to miss a scheduled meeting. However, repeated no-shows can disrupt the platform's ecosystem and negatively impact the experience for all involved. Here's how we recommend handling such situations:

Steps to Take:

  1. Contact the Other Party: The first step should be to get in touch with the Friend or Member you were supposed to meet. Sometimes misunderstandings or unavoidable situations lead to no-shows.
  2. Leave a Review: If the no-show has caused significant inconvenience, you may leave a review to share your experience. Honest reviews help the community make informed decisions.
  3. Report to RentAFriend: If you notice that the no-show behavior is habitual or if it has caused significant issues, you can report it to us for further investigation.

Actions by RentAFriend:

  • Review of Reported Cases: Our team will review reports and may reach out to both parties for additional information.
  • Corrective Actions: Depending on the severity and frequency of the no-shows, corrective actions may be taken, which can range from warnings to temporary or permanent suspension of the account.
  • Administrative Measures: In extreme cases where no-shows become a consistent issue, RentAFriend reserves the right to take more significant administrative actions, up to and including permanent account deactivation.

Recommendations for the Future:

  • Confirm the Meeting: To avoid no-shows, it's always good to confirm the meeting a day in advance.
  • Set Clear Expectations: Be transparent about the meeting details, including time, place, and any other specific arrangements.
  • Consider a Backup Plan: Sometimes, plans fall through. It's always useful to have a backup plan or alternative activity in mind.

We strongly believe in the accountability and reliability of our community members, both Friends and Members. Thus, we encourage transparent and respectful interactions to minimize inconveniences such as no-shows.
